History

Altix traces its origins back to Automa-Tech, a French company founded in 1991 and specialized in imaging equipment for the electronics industry. The company initially developed fully automatic solder mask exposure systems and roll-to-roll exposure equipment for PCB manufacturing.

In 2009, following a capital restructuring and management buyout, Automa-Tech became Altix, marking the beginning of a new phase of technological development and international expansion.

Today, Altix designs and manufactures a complete range of contact exposure and Direct Imaging systems, with more than 95% of its production exported worldwide.

The company operates from its headquarters and manufacturing site in Val-de-Reuil, France, with subsidiaries in China (Kunshan) and North America (Redmond, Washington).

In 2024, Altix joined the MGI Group, a global leader in digital printing technologies. This partnership strengthens Altix’s innovation capabilities and opens new opportunities in inkjet technologies and printed electronics.

2025		Altijet Launch at Productronica Altix and MGI introduce the Altijet inkjet solution at Productronica, marking a new step in digital printing and printed electronics technologies.
2024		Altix Joins the MGI Group Altix becomes part of the MGI Group, opening new opportunities in digital printing and printed electronics technologies.
2023		Adix SA Duo Launch at Productronica Altix introduces the Adix SA Duo Direct Imaging system at Productronica, expanding its portfolio of high-precision maskless imaging solutions.
2021		ISO 9001-2015 Certification & Global Expansion Altix strengthens its international presence while renewing its ISO 9001-2015 certification.
2019		Launch of Adix SA Neo The Adix SA Neo Direct Imaging system is introduced at Productronica, expanding the Adix technology platform.
2017		Launch of AcuReel Altix launches AcuReel, a roll-to-roll exposure system designed for flexible printed circuit manufacturing.
2015		Establishment of Altix North America Altix opens its North American subsidiary in Redmond, Washington, strengthening local sales and technical support. Afosa LedLight™ Launch Altix introduces Afosa LedLight™, expanding its range of LED-based exposure solutions.
2013		Launch of Adix Direct Imaging Altix introduces the Adix Direct Imaging technology, marking a major step toward maskless imaging solutions.
2012		New Headquarters in Val-de-Reuil Altix relocates to a new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Val-de-Reuil, France.
2009		Creation of Altix Following a management buyout and acquisition of Automa-Tech Advanced Technologies assets, Altix is created to continue developing advanced imaging technologies.
2007		Acura Exposure System Launch at Productronica The Acura automatic exposure unit is introduced at Productronica, while ORC Imaging and Automa-Tech merge their imaging technology expertise.
2006		Acquisition of ORC Imaging Corporation Automa-Tech acquires ORC Imaging Corporation in Los Angeles, expanding its technological capabilities and international presence.
2005		Expansion in Asia Automa-Tech establishes operations in Kunshan, Zhuhai and Shanghai, strengthening its presence in the rapidly growing Asian electronics manufacturing market. The company also launches its first roll-to-roll exposure systems for flexible printed circuits (FPC).
1999		ISO Certification and International Expansion. Automa-Tech obtains its first ISO 9001 certification and expands its international sales activities.
1994		Start of international Exports The company begins exporting its equipment internationally and starts building a global customer base.
1992		First Automatic Exposure System Launch of the first automatic photo exposure system for PCB manufacturing
